What should I expect at my appointment?

Your visit should take about an hour to complete. You will be greeted and walked through every step of the process. Our staff will help you with your paperwork and photocopies to be sent to the state for processing. You will have to fill out a page form regarding your medical condition, and the state application. You will meet a licensed physician to discuss your medical history and how medical marijuana can be beneficial to your condition.

During your appointment you will be informed of the guidelines of the law and your rights as a patient or caregiver. You should expect a courteous staff that will answer all of your questions, and comfort you during your visit.

What should I bring to my appointment?

You should bring a valid ID with you. If you want to designate a caregiver to grow your medical marijuana for you, then they should come with their ID as well.

You should bring any proof of your medical history that you can, i.e. most current medical records describing your condition; doctors chart notes; current medications prescribed for your condition; letters from your current physician stating your condition, etc. If you are eligible for a discounted rate you should bring proof of that as well.

You should also bring a smile :)

What are your fees and how can I pay them?

At your initial visit to the clinic, our standard charge is $125. We offer various discounts to low income patients, veterans, and students. Sorry, we do not accept insurance, but we do encourage patients to talk with their insurance provider to see if they can compensate their visit to the clinic. We accept payment by cash, credit or debit cards. We do not accept checks.

Will the doctor write me a prescription for my medicine?

Throughout the United States, doctors do not write prescriptions for marijuana. Instead they write a recommendation for the use of marijuana for medical purposes only. It is this recommendation that you will send in with your application, to obtain a medical marijuana card from the state.

Can I get my medicine from there?

Unfortunately, we do not provide medicine at the clinic. The state law allows you to grow your own plants, or to assign a caregiver to acquire your medicine for you. We offer doctors recommendations and information on the Michigan Medical Marijuana Program only.
